NRI Mart (“NRI Mart”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides international courier, luggage delivery, personal shopping, and e‑commerce sourcing services from India to customers worldwide. We operate the website at nrimart.com and the NRI Mart mobile application (the “Service”). Our registered office is in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
2. Information we collect
We collect information that you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the Service, and information from third parties used to fulfil orders.
a. Information you provide
- Account details: name, phone number, email address, password, country of residence, and preferred language.
- Shipping & billing details: delivery address, recipient name and contact, pickup address, and government‑issued identification where required by customs.
- Order details: products you order, custom shopping requests, product links you share with your case manager, luggage descriptions, and special instructions.
- Payment information: payment method details processed by our payment partners. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Communications: messages, calls, photos, voice notes, and documents you exchange with your case manager via WhatsApp, in‑app chat, email, or phone.
b. Information collected automatically
- Device information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, mobile network, language, and time zone.
- Log & usage data: IP address, app version, screens viewed, features used, crash reports, and approximate location derived from IP.
- Cookies & similar technologies: on our website we use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, and analytics.
c. Optional permissions in the mobile app
- Camera & Photos: only when you choose to upload product photos, ID documents for customs, or proof of delivery. Used solely to fulfil your order.
- Notifications: to send order updates, shipping milestones, and messages from your case manager. You may disable these in device settings.
- Location (approximate): only if you grant permission, to suggest nearby pickup options and applicable shipping rates.
- Contacts: only if you choose to import a recipient's contact details. We do not upload your full contact list.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and operate your account and authenticate you.
- Process orders, source products, ship packages, and complete customs documentation.
- Provide a dedicated case manager and respond to your messages, calls, and requests.
- Process payments and detect or prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- Send transactional notifications (order status, shipping updates, OTPs, receipts).
- Send service updates and, with your consent where required, marketing communications. You can opt out at any time.
- Improve the Service: measure performance, fix bugs, develop new features, and conduct analytics.
- Comply with legal obligations, including customs, tax, anti‑money‑laundering, and accounting requirements.
4. Legal bases for processing
Where applicable law (such as the EU/UK GDPR or India's DPDP Act, 2023) requires a legal basis, we rely on:

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service, and only with the categories of recipients below:
- Logistics & courier partners (e.g., DHL, FedEx, Aramex, India Post, local couriers) to pick up, ship, clear customs, and deliver your packages.
- Marketplaces & sellers (e.g., Flipkart, Amazon India, Meesho, Indian retail stores) when you ask us to source a product on your behalf.
- Payment processors and banks to charge you and pay sellers and partners.
- Cloud, hosting, analytics, and crash‑reporting providers who process data on our behalf under contract.
- Communication providers for SMS, OTP, email, and WhatsApp messaging.
- Government authorities, customs, and law enforcement where required by law, lawful request, or to protect rights and safety.
- Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality.
6. International transfers
Because we operate from India and ship to 20+ countries, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including India and countries where our service providers are located. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross‑border transfers.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. We retain order, shipping, customs, tax, and accounting records for the periods required by applicable law (typically up to 8 years in India). After that, data is deleted or anonymised.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), restricted internal access, and secure payment partners. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to strengthen our protections.
9. Your rights and choices

- Request deletion of your account and personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.

10. Account & data deletion
You can request deletion of your NRI Mart account and associated personal data at any time by:
- Visiting our dedicated request page at nrimart.com/delete-account,
- Emailing support@nrimart.com with the subject “Account Deletion Request”, or
- Asking your case manager in‑app or via WhatsApp.
Once verified, we will delete your profile information, saved addresses, order history, and saved preferences. Some transaction records may be retained for legal and accounting purposes for up to 90 days, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
11. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third‑party links
The Service may contain links to third‑party sites, marketplaces, or sellers. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to review.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app, email, or a notice on our website, and update the “Effective date” above. Your continued use of the Service after the change means you accept the updated policy.
